미츠비시 자동차, 2년 내 필리핀에서 10~20%의 매출 성장 기대

Mitsubishi projects 10-20% sales growth in Philippines in 2 years

Japanese car maker, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) sees 10-20 percent growth in car sales in the country in the next two years.
This as the company noted a much active market for brand-new car ownership coming from a pandemic-torn economy, said MMPC President and CEO Takeshi Hara.
Hara was in Cebu recently to introduce the brand’s latest release of crossover car, the new Xpander, through a “Mitsubishi’s Reimagine Your Ride Test Drive” which ran from June 24-26 in SM Seaside City Cebu.
According to Hara, from a weak performance in the last two years, MMPC noted a surprising sales rebound in the recent months, and the momentum is expected to continue, as economic recovery is apparent.
In an interview, Hara said to complement with its positive outlook, the company is expanding its dealership network across the country.
“When we launched the New Xpander a month ago, it doubled as an opportunity for us to reawaken the love of Filipinos for adventure and road trips through this ride-and-drive series,” he said

코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 주춤한 경제 상황 속에서도 신차 소유 시장이 매우 활발하다는 점에 주목하고 있다. MMPC의 하라 대표는 최근 크로스오버 신형 차량인 Xpander를 소개하기 위해 세부를 방문했다.
그에 따르면 미츠비시는 지난 2년 동안의 부진한 실적에서 최근 몇 달 동안 놀라운 매출 반동에 주목하고 있으며, 경기 회복이 가시화되면서 모멘텀이 계속될 것으로 예상했다.
그는 또한 이러한 긍정적인 전망을 보완하기 위해 미츠비시 회사는 현재 필리핀 전역으로 대리점 네트워크를 확장하고 있다고 말했다.
또 세부는 미츠비시에게 매우 중요한 시장이며, 메트로 마닐라 지역에 이어 두번째로 큰 성장 동력으로 간주되고 있다고 덧붙였다.
한편, 필리핀 자동차 제조업체 회의소(CAMPI)와 트럭 제조업체 협회(TMA)는 최근 공동 보고서를 발표하여 2022년 5월까지 합산 판매가 26,370대로 지난해 같은 달의 22,062대보다 많았다고 발표했다.
