세부 시, 뎅기열 확진을 위한 위성 연구소 계획

Cebu City plans satellite labs to detect dengue

The revival of satellite laboratories that will cater to dengue cases in the barangays has been pushed, along with blood-letting activities, as the year-to-date death toll in Cebu City has reached 18 and more cases recorded.
Cebu City Task Force Dengue head Dr. Daisy Villa has suggested the revival of satellite laboratory for early detection of cases and to bring health services nearer to the community, especially for those who do not want to go to the hospital for lab tests.
Aside from that, cluster clinics utilized for Covid-19 by the City's Emergency Operations are also expected to be revived and be used for dengue.
Vice Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, who is currently the acting mayor, for his part, had also suggested bloodletting activities, for the sake of the dengue patients.
As Garcia made the suggestion, he said it should start at the City Hall itself.
In line with this, City Administrator Suzzane Ardosa added that she is up for an inventory of blood types among employees so that it would be easier for them to locate when needed.

세부 시의 뎅기열 감염으로 인한 연간 사망자 수가 18명에 이르며, 그 이상의 사례를 기록할 가능성도 있어 헌혈 캠페인을 촉진하고 바랑가이의 뎅기열 사례를 연구할 위성 연구소의 부활이 추진되고 있다.
세부시의 뎅기열 태스크포스 팀은 환자의 조기발견을 도모하고 병원에 가지 않고도 검사를 받기를 원하는 사람들을 위해 지역사회 차원에서 의료 서비스를 제공해야 할 것이라며 이를 위해 뎅기열 모니터링 위성 실험실 부활을 제안했다.
이 외에 세부시의 코로나19 대응에 활용했던 클러스터 클리닉도 부활하여 뎅기열 치료에 활용될 전망이다.
또 시청 자체에서부터 뎅기열 환자를 위한 헌혈 캠페인이 제안되었다.
세부시청 공무원들을 중심으로 혈액형 목록을 작성하고 있다.
이달 초에는 다소 둔화되었지만 세부시 보고에 따르면 올해 1월 이후 뎅기열 발병 건수는 1,576건에 달하며, 뎅기열 의심환자까지 포함하면, 1,700명까지 늘어난다.
뎅기열에 감염되는 대부분의 연령층은 4세에서 10세 사이다.
지역적으로는 바랑가이 과달루페가 139건을 기록해 가장 많은 사례를 보였으며, 라훅 92건, 티사 79건, 라방온 71건, 플블라시온 파르도 68건, 탈람반 57건 등이 그 뒤를 잇고 있다.
여전히 세부지역에 비가 계속적으로 내리면서 보건 당국은 환자가 더 늘어날 것으로 예측하고 있다.
