세부 항, 홀리위크 중 40만 명 이상의 승객이 드나들어

Cebu ports record over 400,000 passengers

OVER 400,000 passengers flocked to seaports in Cebu during Holy Week this year, which is about 100,000 more than last year’s numbers, according to the Cebu Port Authority (CPA).
Data from the CPA showed that from April 2 to 9, a total of 443,667 passengers were recorded in Cebu.
Out of the total number, 212,270 passengers arrived in Cebu, while 231,397 left Cebu for their respective towns and provinces.
In 2022, the CPA recorded only around 300,000 passengers.
Holy Week started on Palm Sunday, April 2 and ended on Saturday, April 8. Easter was celebrated Sunday, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Maryknoll Lague-Bolasa, CPA information officer, said the higher number of passengers in Cebu ports this year can be attributed to the lifting of restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic in all areas of the country.
She said they did not record any untoward incidents despite the high number of passengers.

CPA의 집계에 따르면 4월 2일부터 9일까지 세부에서 총 443,667명의 승객이 세부 항을 이용해 드나들었다.
세부에 도착한 승객은 212,270명이며, 세부를 떠나 각자의 지방으로 간 사람들은 231,397명을 기록했다.
홀리위크는 4월 2일 종려주일부터 시작해 4월 8일 토요일까지였으며, 4월 9일은 예수 그리스도의 부활을 기념하는 일요일로 지켰다.
세부항만청의 책임자는 올해 세부항의 승객 수가 증가한 것에 대해 전국의 모든 지역에서 코로나19 바이러스 질병의 대유행으로 그간 진행된 모든 제한조치가 해제되었기 때문일 것이라고 분석했다.
그는 많은 승객이 이용했음에도 불구하고 어떤 중대한 사건 사고도 기록되지 않았다고 덧붙였다.
지갑, 겉옷, 가방과 휴대폰 분실 등 사소한 사건들이 보고되었으며 잃어버린 사람들 중 대부분은 분실물을 되찾았다.
