CV ranks 5th in number of HIV cases nationwide

Central Visayas has slid from top two in January 2023 to top five with the highest new cases of HIV/AIDS for the month of February 2023.
For this month, Central Visayas or Region 7 has recorded 80 cases putting it into the number five spot. The first spot is occupied by the National Capital Region with 294 cases, followed by Region 4A with 253 cases, Region 3 with 133 cases and Region 11 with 84 cases.
According to the Department of Health Epidemiology Bureau in their Summary of Newly-Diagnosed cases that for February 2023, there are a total of 1,292 cases and were accounted for to the total 112,028 reported cases since January 1984 nationwide.
Latest data also shows that for the month of February this year, there were an average of 47 daily cases and 44 reported deaths due to any cause among people diagnosed with HIV, the virus causing AIDS.
Of the newly diagnosed people with HIV/AIDS, 1,236 are males and 56 are females.

필리핀 보건역학 당국에 따르면 2023년 2월 신규 진단된 HIV/AIDS 사례는 총 1,292건을 기록했으며, 지난 1984년 1월 이후 총 112,028건에 해당된다.
최신 데이터에 따르면 지난 2월 한달 동안 매일 평균 47건의 신규 사례가 발생했고 44명이 사망했다.
새로 HIV/AIDS를 진단 받은 사람 중 1,236명은 남성이며, 56명은 여성이다.
감염된 대다수의 사람들이 성적 접촉에 의해 감염되었으며 남성의 71%는 다른 남성과의 성관계 이력을 보고했다.
모자간 전염을 통해 HIV에 감염된 사례는 2건을 기록했다.
보고자료에 따르면 2023년 2월 기준으로 총 65,236명의 HIV 감염자가 항레트로 바이러스 요법 치료를 받고 있다.
2023년 2월 발생한 373건의 신규 사례 중 15세~24ㅔ 청소년이 62건 포함되었다.
필리핀에서는 1984년 1월부터 2023년 2월까지 HIV/AIDS로 인해 6,425명의 사망자가 보고되었다.
이들 중 41명은 사망 당시 15세 미민이었으며, 1,377건은 15세~24세, 3,104건은 25세~34세였고, 1,582건은 35세~49세 사이였다.
