중화항공, 세부-타이페이 직항편 론칭

China Airlines launches Cebu-Taipei direct flight

China Airlines commenced its four times a week flight from Mactan Cebu International Airport to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport.
The Taiwan flag carrier made its first arrival to Cebu yesterday, December 1, 2022 carrying 120 passengers who were welcomed by a ceremonial water cannon salute.
Likewise, China Airlines led by Fu Sheng Wang, general manager for Philippine branch, together with officials from Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC), Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), and Department of Tourism (DOT-7) said a departure formality was also given to passengers departing for Taipei on the same day with a cake-cutting ceremony.
According to Wang, the conceptualization of China Airlines’ entry to Cebu started four years ago, however the implementation was affected by the pandemic.
Now that the borders are slowly opening up, boosted by the high interest of people to travel, Wang expressed confidence of a good two-way traffic, saying Cebu and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao region is considered as big market for China Airlines.
MCIAA General Manager and CEO Julius Neri, Jr. lauded China Airlines’ confidence to connect Cebu and Taiwan, and its recognition of Cebu as a destination and source of tourists.
China Airlines sets to push for more leisure travel demand and grow the Taipei Taoyuan hub as it adds more Southeast Asian destinations in its network.

중화항공은 막탄세부 국제공항에서 타이페이 타오위안 국제공항까지 주 4회 운항을 시작했다.
대만국적 항공사인 중화항공은 지난 12월 1일 120명의 승객을 태우고 세부에 처음 도착했다.
막탄세부 국제공항은 새 항공편의 론칭을 맞이하는 물대포 세례식으로 중화항공의 첫 운항을 환영했다.
또한 막탄세부 국제공항 매니지먼트와 필리핀 관광부 중부비사야 지부는 같은 날 중화항공편을 통해 타이페이로 출발하는 승객들에게 케이크 컷팅식과 함께 출국 수속을 도왔다.
관계자에 따르면 중화항공의 세부 노선 론칭은 이미 4년전부터 논의되어 왔지만 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 영향을 받아 올해까지 지연되었다.
중화항공 관계자는 비사야 민다나오 지역은 중화항공이 고려하고 있는 큰 시장이라고 말하면서 양방향 항공 노선 수송에 대한 자신감을 표명했다.
중화항공은 더 많은 레저 여행 수요를 촉진하고 더 많은 동남아시아 지역의 목적지를 추가하여 타이페이 허브를 성장시킨다는 계획이다.
주 4회 막탄세부 국제공항에서 타이페이로 가는 직항편은 매주 월요일, 화요일, 목요일, 토요일에 180석 규모의 에어커스 A321네오 기종을 사용하여 운항한다.
중화항공이 추가되면서 막탄세부 국제공항은 이제 13개의 해외 항공사와 4개의 필리핀 기반 항공사가 파트너십을 맺고 27곳의 국내 목적지와 10곳의 국제 목적지로 연결된다.
