라마 세부시장, 물공급 문제 해결을 위한 댐 건립 프로젝트 추진

Rama pushes for dam project to solve water supply needs

Mayor Michael Rama requested President Rodrigo Duterte for Cebu City to have a surface water retaining structure or a dam as part of the national government’s recovery assistance for areas hit by Typhoon Odette.
Water supply has long been tight in Cebu City and has gone worse after the onslaught of Odette on December 16, 2021.
Rama sent his letter of request to Duterte through Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, chairman of the Task Force Build Back Better, who recently visited him at the City Hall to be apprised of the situation after the recent typhoon.
“It’s long overdue. It’s always been (desired by)… several administrations in the City of Cebu way back 1982,” he said, referring to plans to build a dam.

마이클 라마 세부시장은 태풍 오데트 피해를 입은 지역에 대한 정부 차원의 복구 지원의 일환으로 두테르테 필리핀 대통령에게 댐 건립을 요청했다.
그에 따르면 세부 시의 상수원 공급은 오랫동안 상당히 부족하거나 겨우 공급을 맞추는 수준으로 이어져 왔으며 지난해 12월 16일 태풍 오데트의 피해로 이후 더 악화되었다고 전했다.
라마 세부시장은 최근 태풍 이후의 상황을 알리기 위해 세부시청을 찾은 환경부의 로이 시마투 장관을 통해 두테테 대통령에게 요청서한을 보냈다.
라마 세부시장은 대통령의 임기가 끝나기 전에 중앙정부가 진정성을 가지고 세부지역의 상수원 문제를 해결하기 위해 시간을 내 달라고 촉구했다.
