500 kids in Central Visayas return to school for pilot week of face-to-face classes

It’s all systems go for the return of limited face-to-face classes in 10 basic education schools in Cebu today, November 15, 2021, almost two years since students migrated to online or distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The eight in Cebu are among the 100 schools across the country located in areas with very few coronavirus cases.
Around 500 students – kindergarten to Grade 3 and senior high school – are expected to return to school.
Department of Education (DepEd)-7 Director Salustiano Jimenez said this number may still increase after parents assess the first week of implementation.
He said all teachers in Cebu involved in the return to face-to-face classes are vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who are not teaching physically have received, at least, the first dose.

코로나19 전염병으로 인한 팬데믹 기간 동안 온라인 또는 원격 교육으로 전환한지 거의 2년여만에 11월 15일부터 세부의 10곳 기초교육기관에서 제한된 대면수업이 시범적으로 시행되었다.
세부에 위치한 8개 학교는 코로나19 바이러스 사례가 거의 없는 지역으로 추천된 지역에 위치한 전국 100개 학교 중 시범학교로 선정되었다.
유지원부터 3학년, 그리고 일부 고등학교 과정 학생들 약 500명이 학교로 돌아갔다.
교육부 중부비사야지부의 관계자는 학부모들이 시범적인 대면수업을 첫 주간 평가한 후에 학교로 돌아오는 학생들의 숫자가 계속 증가할 수 있다고 말했다.
대면수업에 복귀한 세부지역의 모든 교사들은 코로나19 예방접종을 완료했으며, 아직 수업에 복귀하지 않는 사람들도 최소한 첫번째 접종은 마쳤다.
제한된 대면수업이기 때문에 수업에 참여하는 학생 수 역시 제한된다.
유치원 수업은 학급당 12명, 1~3학년은 학급당 16명, 고등학교는 학급당 12명만 대면 수업 참가가 허용되며, 학생들은 1~2미터 이상 사회적 거리두기를 준수해야 한다.
대면수업의 시범시행은 2개월동안 진행되며, 평가 후 다음번 회차는 2022년 1월부터 재개될 예정이다.
