To temper losses, restros urged to go al fresco

The Cebu Provincial Board has urged commercial establishments to allow restaurants and other dining and food establishments to set up outdoor or al fresco dining areas while Cebu is battling COVID-19.
Likewise, the PB also urged different local government units to allow the use of public parks, sidewalks, curbsides, and other public open spaces as temporary outdoor or al fresco dining areas of such establishments, and regulate such use
To note, the highly urbanized cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu on Cebu island remains under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until August 31, 2021.

세부 주정부는 코로나19와 싸움을 계속하는 동안 기타 식당과 레스토랑 등 외식업체에서 야외 식사공간을 설정하도록 각 상업시설에 촉구했다.
주정부 측은 각 지방정부의 기관에 공원, 인도, 연석, 기타 열린 공간을 이러한 식당들의 임시 야외 식사공간으로 활용할 수 있도록 허용해달라고 요청했다.
세부섬의 세부시, 만다웨, 라푸라푸 시 등은 8월 31일까지 MECQ 검역조치가 유지된다.
이 검역조치 하에서는 식당과 레스토랑 기타 외식업체 등은 최대 20%까지만 실내 식사 용량이 가능하며, 야외 식사공간도 50% 내 범위에서 허용된다.
일각에서는 이러한 제한 조치가 좌석 수용 인원을 크게 감소시키면서 식음료 및 외식산업 부문의 경제적 손실을 더 크게 한다고 지적하고 있다.
