에어아시아, 2022년 1분기까지 국제선 항공편 재개 기대

AirAsia Phl eyes revival of international flights by Q1 2022

Budget carrier AirAsia Philippines intends to revive its international network by the first quarter of next year as part of the company’s efforts to recover from the impact of the pandemic.
AirAsia Philippines chief executive officer Ricky Isla said the airline’s priorities at present include rebuilding its domestic commercial flights, as well being ready for international services by the first quarter of 2022.
For its domestic network, AirAsia is looking to have its operations in Clark return by the fourth quarter.
“We will most likely reopen with our Clark trips towards the peak season of November and December,” Isla said.
“The best time is when there is already what you call a good herd immunity in Manila and Central Luzon like Clark, then we will be confident that we will be extending also our Clark hub as our point of destination,” he said.
AirAsia started its Philippines operations in Clark in March 2012, making it one of the carriers actively boosting connectivity and mobility in various local economies in North and Central Luzon.
Pre-pandemic, AirAsia Philippines flew to 10 domestic and three international destinations from Clark namely, Cagayan de Oro, Caticlan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, Incheon, Kaohsiung, and Taipei.

에어아시아 필리핀의 CEO 리키 이슬라는 현재 에어아시아 필리핀의 향후 계획에 대해 우선적으로 국내선 항공편의 상시 운영을 재개하고 이후 2022년 1분기까지 국제선 서비스 재개 준비를 하겠다고 언급했다.
또, 2022년 11월과 12월 즈음의 여행 성수기에는 필리핀 클락 지역 여행이 재개될 가능성을 크게 내다봤다.
에어아시아 필리핀은 2012년 3월 필리핀 클락에서 사업을 시작하여 필리핀 중부 루손 지역과 북부 등 다양한 필리핀 경제의 허브 지역의 연결성을 향상시킨 항공사로 평가받고 있다.
리키 이슬라는 또한 향후 에어아시아가 서비스할 주요 우선 순위에 화물 부문 사업도 강화하겠다고 덧붙였다.
