900 jeeps back on Cebu City roads

More than 900 traditional public utility jeepneys (TPUJs) have been allowed to hit the streets of Cebu City once again.
They are allowed to operate under the Balik Pasada Permit (BPP), said Councilor James Cuenco, the city’s Jeepney Task Force (JTF) chief.
With the demand for public transportation, Cuenco said, the BPPs were issued to TPUJs allowing them to ply the city streets 24/7.
“The lack of PUVs at night is the concern of night commuters, especially the frontliners and the business process outsourcing (BPO) employees,” he said.
Another concern is the trip-cutting of TPUJs, said Cuenco.

900대 이상의 전통적인 지프니가 세부시 거리로 복귀하게 되었다.
그리고 대중교통에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라 연중 무휴 24시간 동안 도시내 운행을 할 수 있게 되었다.
버스가 운행되고 있는 노선도 유지된다.
현재 버스는 약 70대가 시내 노선을 운행하고 있다.
