Badian’s Kawasan Falls set to reopen on May 1

One of the famous tourist destinations in Cebu’s southwest coast is set to open its doors to tourists after over a year of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kawasan Falls in Barangay Matutinao, Badian town will start again accepting tourists this Saturday, May 1.

Badian is 104 kilometers away from Cebu city or over a three-hour drive.

Donald Villarin, the municipal tourism officer, said Kawasan Fall will only accommodate 400 guests a day in compliance with the 50 percent carrying capacity required for tourist destinations.

He said walk-in guests are welcome.

The provincial government has permitted swimming and sightseeing activities in waterfalls as stated in the governor’s Executive Order No. 13.

세부 남서부 해안의 아름다운 유명 관광지 중 하나인 가와산 폭포가 코로나19로 폐쇄된지 1년이 넘었지만 곧 5월부터 다시 문을 열게 될 전망이다.

바디안 가와산 폭포는 세부시내에서 104킬로미터 떨어져 있으며 자동차로는 3시간 정도가 소요된다.

시의 관광 책임자는 가와산 폭포에 50% 수용 능력에 따라 일일 400명의 손님을 맞을 것이라고 밝혔다.

세부 주정부는 주지사의 행정명령에 따라 폭포에서 수영과 관광 활동 등을 허용했다.

가와산 폭포 관광지에는 손씻는 구역, 플라스틱 가림막을 두른 리셉션 데스크, 사회적거리 준수 표지판 등이 설치된다.

입장 전 관광객의 체온도 측정하며 직원은 마스크와 쉴드, 장갑 등을 착용하고 관광 센터에는 공기청정기도 구비할 계획이다.

가와산 폭포 인근 지정 지역에는 음식을 사먹을 수 있는 푸드 코너와 숙박시설도 영업을 하게 된다.
