Cebu City vaccination hits snag as supply runs out

Due to the limited supply of vaccines that has reached the city, the Cebu City government has stopped its COVID-19 vaccination rollout temporarily yesterday but assured vaccination will resume once vaccines become available.

The city has just started its second phase of vaccination on April 19, 2021 for senior citizens. Yesterday, it accommodated senior citizens at the University of Cebu-Banilad and SM Seaside City until midday.

The vaccination center at Robinsons Galleria was not opened Friday because it underwent disinfection.

The Department of Health (DOH)-7 provided 5,000 doses of vaccines for senior citizens this week.

Tumulak, one of the task force leaders of the city’s Vaccine Advisory Board (VAB), assured that the city will keep the public updated on the resumption of vaccinations.

4월 19일 노인들을 위한 2차 예방접종을 시작하고 23일 정오까지 세부 UC대학 바닐라드 캠퍼스와 SM 씨사이드에서 예방접종을 해왔지만 로빈슨 갤러리아 예방접종 센터는 23일 금요일부터 문을 열지 못했다.

중부 비사야지역 보건부는 이번주 노인들에게 5천회 예방접종을 실시했다.

세부시 코로나19 백신관련 위원회 태스크포스의 리더인 투물락 시의원은 세부시정부가 백신 접종을 재개하게 되면 대중에게 다시 공지하겠다고 밝혔다.

세부시는 지난 3월 24일부터 4월 22일까지 1만 명 이상의 주민에게 예방접종을 실시했다.

최우선 대상은 바랑가이 의료종사자와 사설 클리닉의 의료진이다.

그리고 예방접종을 받은 노년계층에는 마이클 라마 부시장과 몇몇 국회의원들이 포함되었다.
