Demand for countryside properties on the rise

Demand for real estate properties in the provinces is seen to rise further, as developers are now eyeing residential developments in countryside and sub-urban areas.

“For many, the countryside -- with its freer, less polluted environment – is now seen as a second home and no longer simply a vacation spot,” said Filipino Homes founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Anthony Leuterio.

This trend prompted developers to actively look for properties in the countryside, including far-flung provinces.

“Balik-probinsya is back,” said Leuterio adding that the quarantine reinforced to many city dwellers the not-so-pleasant realities that they now want to avoid such as traffic gridlock, noisy neighborhoods, cramped streets, and thickening pollution, among others.

According to Leuterio, with the work-from-home arrangement, and companies embracing remote working, many are considering to go back to their respective provinces and invest for a property there.

필리피노 홈스의 설립자이자 CEO인 앤서니 루테리오는 단순한 휴양지로서가 아닌 제 2의 집으로서 적절한 환경을 갖춘 시골 지역에 더 많은 사람들이 적극적으로 부동산을 찾고 있다고 언급했다.

특히 재택 근무와 원격 근무를 수용하는 회사가 많아지면서 지방에서 근무하는 것을 장애로 여기지 않는 사람들도 늘었다.

필리핀 중앙은행에 따르면 수많은 글로벌 산업이 코로나19 전염병의 악영향을 받았지만 필리핀의 주거용 부동산 가격은 오히려 2020년 2분기에 27.1%성장했다.

이는 필리핀의 주거용 부동산 업계가 여전히 공격적 투자대상이 되고 있으며 경쟁력이 있음을 의미한다고 전문가들은 해석하고 있다.

교외지역의 주거개발 프로젝트와 보다 저렴하게 공급되는 주택 분야에 아직 많은 수요가 있다는 것이 필리피노 홈스 개발사 측의 의견이다.

때문에 시골이나 다른 기타 지방에 더 많은 주거용 개발 프로젝트 건설이 이루어질 것으로 루테리오 씨는 전망했다.
