3월부터 세부시 코로나19 확진사례 하향세

Downward trend in cases in Cebu City in start of March

The OCTA Research Group has noted a downward trend in the number of new COVID-19 cases in Cebu City almost a month since the city recorded its highest number of new cases since the start of 2021.

Cebu City was tagged as area of concern owing to a resurgence of cases since January – up to 263 cases on February 24 alone.

Based on Department of Health (DOH)-7 data, the city has 3,565 active cases as of March 7.

But OCTA has noticed a reverse in the trend in the first week of March. As of Saturday, March 6, the highest number of new cases in a day dropped to 172.

The city logged 160 new cases on March 1; 151 cases on March 2; 159 cases on March 3; 143 cases on March 4; 172 cases on March 5; and 161 cases on March 6.

세부시는 2021년 새해가 시작된 이래 3월 들어서 코로나19 확산세가 주춤하고 있는 것에 주목하고 있다.

세부시 확진사례는 1월부터 다시 만연해져 지난 2월 24일에는 하루에 확진자가 263건에 달하기까지 하여 전국적으로 우려지역으로 지정되기도 했다.

3월 들어서는 가장 많은 확진사례가 보고된 날은 6일 토요일이며, 172건이다.

세부시에서 올해들어 처음으로 코로나19 사례가 점차 감소되고 있는 것으로 당국은 파악하고 있다.

양성률은 17%이다.

다만 만다웨와 라푸라푸 시는 신규 확진사례가 소폭 증가했다.

라푸라푸 시는 하루 평균 35~63건, 만다웨 시는 34~54건 정도 신규확진사례가 발생하고 있다.

각 지방정부는 경제 활성화의 목적으로 검역 규정이 다소 완화됨에 따라 지역 주민들에게 코로나19 전파를 막기 위해 개인적인 노력을 당부했다.
