2022 national elections: Cebu execs eye Duterte for VP

Cebu’s political leaders allied with the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Laban ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) are urging President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte to run for vice president in the 2022 elections.

The call was made after they adopted Manila mayors’ resolution asking PDP-Laban chairman, Duterte, to run for vice president in next year’s national and local polls.

“We the undersigned leaders and members of PDP-Laban Party hereby resolved to convince our party chairman, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, to represent the PDP-Laban as its vice presidential candidate in the national elections in 2022,” the resolution read.

They signed yesterday the resolution and manifesto, indicating their support for Duterte.

세부지역의 정치 지도자들은 두테르테 대통령을 2022년 대선에서 부통령으로 밀게 될 전망이다.

라벨라 세부시장과 라마 부시장은 합심하여 같은 의견을 내었다.

이들은 어제 두테르테 부통령 출마를 지지하는 결의안과 선언문에 함께 서명했다.

이 밖에도 세부지역의 많은 국회의원들과 지방위원회 의원 등이 함께 했다.

이들은 선언문을 통해 '두테르테 대통령의 확고한 리더쉽과 강력한 변화의지를 통해 필리핀 정부가 국민과 사회와 경제를 건강하게 되돌릴 수 있을 것으로 믿는다.'라고 지지를 표명했다.

대통령 비서실 비사야지부의 마이클 디노 장관 역시 두테르테가 러닝메이트로 선택하는 사람을 지원하겠다고 동의했다.

그리고 두테르테 대통령이 봉고 상원의원과 함께 출마하면 이들을 전적으로 지지하겠다고 표명했다.
