반타얀 섬, 그 어느때보다 아름다워

Bantayan Island looking beautiful than ever

The city life has been taking its toll on most of us for the longest time now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While some enjoy the comforts of their home, some still want to enjoy the sun, the sand, and the beach. And when it comes to these three, Bantayan Island in northern Cebu always comes to mind.

The pristine island opened and welcomed local tourists last October.

But how is Bantayan Island now under the new normal?

Ted Anthony Tarona and his girlfriend Larisse gave us a glimpse of how the island is doing after months of healing.

“There are fewer people on the island due to the pandemic and it’s a good thing because it gave the island time to recover from the volume of tourists from the past years and it has become more beautiful than ever. Even walking by the beach is romantic since it’s just me and her and no other people around,” he said.

코로나19의 대유행으로 인해 오랫동안 사람들의 도시 생활을 피해를 받고 있는 가운데, 어떤 사람들은 집에서 편안함을 즐기지만 또 어떤 사람들은 여전히 태양과 해변과 모래를 즐기고 싶어하기도 한다.

이러한 세가지에 대해서는 세부 북부의 반타얀 섬이 항상 떠오른다.

반타얀 섬은 작년 10월부터 다시 관광산업을 재개하고 현지 관광객을 맞이하고 있다.

다만 예전에는 워크인으로 섬으로 바로 가서 호텔이나 숙박장소를 물색할 수 있었지만 요즘에는 예약확인서를 미리 지참하고 호텔이나 선택한 숙소에서 보낸 QR코드가 필요하다.

반타얀 섬은 그 어느때보다 아름답고 좋은 경관을 자랑하며 건강과 보건 프로토콜을 엄격하게 준수하는 관광객을 맞이할 준비가 되어 있다.
