세부지역 호텔업계, 시눌룩 행사 최저수준으로

Hotels will keep Sinulog celebrations low-key

THE hotel industry is still bleeding.

And with the cancellation of the Sinulog’s main activities and absence of foreign guests, hoteliers expect a quieter festival.

Alfred Reyes, vice president of the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu (HRRAC), said hotels have prepared simple Sinulog preparations this year unlike in previous years.

“We placed Sinulog decorations, but in terms of expecting guests like before, not anymore. Our domestic tourism is dead, except for local tourism which includes only Cebuanos not like before when we had visitors from neighboring islands that would visit Cebu,” he said.

Reyes said hotels don’t have tourists right now coming from neighboring islands.

“This Sinulog is going to be very, very quiet,” he said.

시눌룩의 주요 활동이 취소되고 외국인 손님들이 거의 없어 세부지역의 호텔 업계의 출혈이 상당하다.

세부지역 호텔, 리조트, 레스토랑 협회 등 지역의 호텔 업계는 작년과 달리 간단한 정도의 시눌룩 행사 준비를 하고 있다.

시눌룩 행사와 관련한 장식을 했지만 손님을 기대하는 것은 아니다.

다만 세부를 방문할 인근 지역과 인근 섬의 방문객이 있다면 일부 지역 관광을 제외하고 국내 관광역시 매우 어려운 상황이다.

대부분의 호텔업계는 90%이상 손실을 감수하며 운영하고 있다.
