LTFRB 7 reopens Dumaguete-Cebu City bus route

THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 7 has reopened the bus routes from Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental to Cebu City and vice versa.

LTFRB 7 Director Eduardo Montealto Jr. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, said his office already informed the bus operators about the decision last week, including Ceres bus operator Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI).

The LTFRB 7 now resumes the bus operation in the Dumaguete City-Cebu City route after months of travel restrictions due to community quarantines imposed by the government to slow down the spread of Covid-19.

However, Montealto said the bus operators' main problem is the lack of passengers. He learned that several residents of Dumaguete City were hesitant to travel to Cebu City as they knew they would be subjected to a mandatory quarantine when they returned.

LTFRB 7은 두마게테 시와 네그로스 오리엔탈에서 세부시로 또는 그 반대 노선으로 버스노선을 재개했다.

그러나 버스 운영자의 주된 골칫거리는 코로나19가 아니라 승객과 이용객이 부족한 것이다.

두마게테 시의 주민들은 세부로 돌아오게 되면 의무적인 격리가 필요하므로 세부시로 여행하는 것을 주저한다.

버스 노선 운행 재개를 위해 최소 12대의 버스에 대한 특별허가 신청을 처리하고 있다.

통근자 수가 늘어나면 버스의 배차가 더 늘어날 수 있다.

첫번째 버스는 1월 중순부터 노선을 운행하게 된다.
