The Cebu City Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries (DVMF) warns that prices of pork products may increase this holiday season due to high demand.
Dr. Jennifer Laurente, DVMF head, said the ban on the African Swine Fever (ASF) had affected the supply in the city, since the primary source of pork had been from imports from other local government units (LGUs).
The main source of pork in the city is only Cebu Province as there are not enough hog growers in the city.

크리스마스와 새해까지 돼지고기 수요는 계속적으로 증가할 것으로 예상되면서 가격은 상승할 것으로 예견된다.
12월 첫 2주도안 돼지고기 가격은 킬로당 100페소에서 킬로당 140페소로 킬로당 40%나 인상되었다.
한편 정부부처는 아프리카 돼지열병 반입 금지에 대한 행정명령이 여전히 유효하기 때문에 아프리카 돼지 열병 피해 지역 및 국가에서 생산된 돼지고기 제품을 판매하지 말라고 각 식당들에 거듭 상기했다.
관련부서는 규정 준수를 확인하기 위해 시설과 업체를 모니터링할 계획이다.
