EXPECT a stricter year 2021 as the Davao City Government will continue to regulate mass gatherings and enforce other regulations as the Covid-19 pandemic will unlikely end anytime next year, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said.
In a radio interview on Monday, December 7, Duterte-Carpio said Dabawenyos cannot expect things to go back to normal next year or even "until the end of 2022" because the pandemic may not end yet.
With this, the mayor said the city will be regulating mass gatherings and special occasions, including weddings and baptism.
Citing opinions from health experts, both local and international, the pandemic might last for another two years. This despite the progress in the development of the vaccines.

각 지방정부는 행정명령을 수정하거나 인용하여 연장해 갈 수 있다.
백신 개발의 진전에도 불구하고 지역과 국제보건 전문가들은 코로나19 전염병의 영향이 향후 2년정도 더 지속될 수 있을 것으로 예견하고 있다.
백신이 접종된다 하더라도 즉각적인 면역이 발효될지 보장할 수 없다는 것다고 사라 두테르테 카르피오 다바오 시장은 말했다.
